How much Poka reads
B4 Summary. The container and metadata are read and summarised (counts, properties, structure), but the main content is not rendered.
Confidence: medium (the reviewer read the code). Basis: Reviewed 2026-10-26: read parsers/poka-snappy/src/main.rs (219 lines) and plugin.json. No unit tests or tests/samples.rs; the corpus has no .snappy and .sz sample. Covers .snappy and .sz. The card checks the stream identifier and walks every chunk, counting compressed, uncompressed, padding and reserved chunks and totalling body and uncompressed bytes (from each compressed chunk's length varint). Judgement: B4: the stream's structure is walked and summarised, but nothing is decompressed.
What Poka does not read
- The data is not decompressed, so the content is not shown
- CRC-32C checksums are not verified
- Raw (unframed) Snappy data, also saved as .snappy, is refused
- Files over 4 GiB are cut (flagged)
