How much Poka reads
B4 Summary. The container and metadata are read and summarised (counts, properties, structure), but the main content is not rendered.
Confidence: medium (the reviewer read the code). Basis: Reviewed 2026-10-26: read parsers/poka-criu/src/main.rs (314 lines) and plugin.json. No unit tests or tests/samples.rs; the corpus has sample.img-criu, read by no test. Covers .img-criu. The tree identifies the image type from its magic and walks the length-prefixed entries, counting them and their bytes, with a shallow field scan of the first entry. Judgement: B4: the image is identified and its entries counted, but not decoded with CRIU's schemas.
What Poka does not read
- Entries are not decoded with CRIU's protobuf schemas: no process tree, registers, memory maps or file descriptors
- Only a few top-level fields of the first entry are shown, without names
- Page images (pages-N.img) are raw memory and are not read
Libraries
Libraries Poka uses or has assessed for this format, with the status, licence and language the registry records.
- go-criu (crit package) (candidate; Apache-2.0; Go; https://github.com/checkpoint-restore/go-criu) — crit package decodes, encodes and manipulates CRIU image files natively in Go; also ships a CLI similar to Python CRIT.
