How much Poka reads
B4 Summary. The container and metadata are read and summarised (counts, properties, structure), but the main content is not rendered.
Confidence: medium (the reviewer read the code). Basis: Reviewed 2026-10-26: read parsers/poka-bochs/src/main.rs (447 lines) and plugin.json. No unit tests or tests/samples.rs; the corpus has no .bochs and .img-bochs sample. Covers .bochs and .img-bochs. The tree reads the 512-byte header (magic, type, subtype, version, header size, catalog entries, bitmap and extent sizes, virtual disk size, with the v1 and v2 size fields) and summarises storage (allocated size, extents, sparse savings); a file without the Bochs header is shown as a raw image by size. Judgement: B4 rather than B5: the header is decoded, but the disk's contents are not.
What Poka does not read
- The virtual disk's contents are not read
- The extent catalog and bitmaps are not read, so allocation is estimated from the file size
- Raw images (no Bochs header) are only sized
