B2 Broad. The common content of the current and the common older versions is decoded. Some named features or versions are not, and are listed.
Confidence: medium (the reviewer read the code). Basis: Reviewed 2026-10-26: read parsers/poka-code/src/main.rs (265 lines) and plugin.json, and poka-viewers' poka-code-viewer module comment. The three unit tests cover the decoding (BOM, UTF-16, Windows-1252 fallback) and the extension-to-language map, not what is displayed; the corpus has escape.rs and mpsc.rs but no test reads them. Covers .rs and the 14 other extensions in the manifest (.d, .sc, .fsx, .mjs, .cjs, .lhs, .lisp, .scm, .ss, .graphql, .cmake, .f, .p, .proto). The whole text is passed to the code viewer with a language hint (rust), which highlights it in the browser. What Poka does not read
- Only the first 8 MiB is read and the text shown stops at 200,000 characters (flagged as truncated)
- Highlighting depends on the host loading highlight.js or Prism; without it the code is plain monospaced text
- No outline: items, modules, doc comments and attributes are not extracted or listed
- Bytes that are neither UTF-8 nor UTF-16 with a BOM are decoded as Windows-1252, which garbles other legacy encodings
